Executive Management

The Executive Committee consists of the following members and manages the day-to-day operations of Bapo Ba Mogale Investments:

Mr Lehlohonolo Nthontho
Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Nthontho was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Bapo Ba Mogale Investments (NPC) on the 1 of September 2014. He held the position of Strategy Advisor to Kgosi Bob Edward Mogale, Bapo Ba Mogale Royal Family and Bapo Ba Mogale Traditional Council from January 2013 to September 2014. During this period, he assisted with the strategic turnaround, restructuring and reconstitution of Bapo Ba Mogale Royal Family as well as establishment of the Traditional Council. Mr Nthontho was a member of a negotiating team that lead to the conclusion of the Bapo Ba Mogale – Lonmin Royalties to Equity Swap Transaction. Mr Nthontho is a strategist, self-starter and visionary entrepreneur with natural leadership capabilities. He is the founding Chief Executive Officer of Nthontho Business Solutions. He has worked in Finance and Accounting environment for six years having worked for Anglogold Ashanti, Accenture and United States Agency for International Development (USAID- Southern Africa). Mr Nthontho is currently pursuing his studies with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountant (UK) leading to Charted Certified Accountant on completion.

Oupa Mothibi holds two degrees in Mining Engineering and the Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency. He started his career with AngloGold Ashanti as a vocational scholarship holder. Upon graduating, he underwent Management Training Program. Throughout the program, he worked in substantive positions at various levels of supervision and junior management. After concluding the program, he joined the University of Pretoria, Mining Engineering Department as Lecturer. During his time as a lecturer, he worked on contract with a Consulting Firm as a consulting Mining Engineer. Oupa worked on other projects such as the non-explosive hard rock breaking innovation project with Goldfields at the Innovation Hub. He also worked within teams at the SABS in developing standards for mining products. Oupa re-joined AngloGold Ashanti as a Training Manager responsible for technical training of supervisors and middle managers. He recently worked as a Senior HoD for Royal Bafokeng Platinum looking after Human Resource Development.

Mr Kolobe Mashala CA(SA)
Chief Financial Officer

Mr Mashala has more than 12 years of experience in the field of operations, business, and financial management within the non-profit company, public and private sectors. Mr Mashala is a certified chartered accountant. He has also worked for high profile companies, which include Maxam International, JCI Mining Limited and Goldfields, Transnet, Population Services International and Onderstepoort Biological Products SOC. As an active member of the Makhuduthamaga Municipality Audit Committee, Mr. Mashala effectively oversaw internal audits and controls, and evaluates financial statements, risk management, and performance management systems. Mr Mashala has also completed his MBA at Milpark University; he received a Higher Diploma in Tax Law from the University of Johannesburg, and Honours and Bachelors of Accounting Degrees from University of South Africa and University of the North respectively.

Ms Dimakatso Lekhutlile (LLB, LLM)
Company Secretary

Ms Lekhutlile is an admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa. She joined Bapo Ba Mogale Investments NPC in November 2014, from MTN Group Limited where she was Assistant Group Secretary since 2010. Prior to that, Ms Lekhutlile worked as Senior Advisor in the Company Secretarial Division of Sasol Limited. Ms Lekhutlile was also Senior Associate in the Corporate Department of the law firm Bowman Gilfillan Inc. Ms Lekhutlile has experience in the fields of corporate governance, compliance, mergers and acquisitions and general corporate law. Ms Lekhutlile is responsible for all legal affairs of the Company as well as corporate governance.
